Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration in Unix/Linux server. Using any web browser you can setup user accounts, Apache, DNS, MySQL, file sharing and a lost more. Webmin removes the need to manually edit Unix/Linux configuration files like /etc/passwd, and lets you manage a system from the console or remotely by using web browser. Install webmin on ubuntu server
We have already installed ubuntu server, now we will install webmin for easy administartion.
Edit /etc/apt/sources.list file
sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list
Add the following lines
deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib
deb http://webmin.mirror.somersettechsolutions.co.uk/repository sarge contrib
Save and exit the file
Now you need to import GPG key
wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc
sudo apt-key add jcameron-key.asc
Update the source list
sudo apt-get update
Install webmin
sudo apt-get install webmin
When its done you should see something like this in you console:
as root with your root password, or as any user who can use sudo
to run commands as root.
Now you can access webmin by using http://serverip:10000/ once it opens you should see login screen.
